Music Ministry
Use your musical gifts to usher others into the presence of God
At United Methodist Church of Ludington, we have three different music ministry groups, the Adult Chancel Choir, Bellchoir, and Oasis Youth Music Team.
Adult Chancel Choir
The Chancel Choir sings anthems on the first, second, and fifth Sundays of the month. Rehearsals are on Wednesday evenings in the choir room from 7-8 p.m. A variety of music is done using Gospel hymns, Contemporary selections, and seasonal music for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter. If you sight-read music, that is a plus but not necessary. We help each other learn our vocal parts, and we welcome anyone who loves to sing. Please see Becky Sopha for more information.
Bell Choir
The Bell choir is under the direction of Carleen Shinn. They rehearse every Tuesday from 5-6:20 p.m. in the sanctuary and play on the third Sunday of the month. She is always looking for new players and also those who can substitute for current players who have to be away for illness or trips. The Bell Choir will be playing a Christmas concert on Dec. 13, 2022, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hart and also for the Christmas Eve service on Dec. 24, 2022. Oasis Youth Music Team
At present, we are rebuilding this group who lead Contemporary music in worship on the fourth Sunday of the month. Rehearsals will be every two weeks on Sunday afternoon, with the hour-long practice time to be determined by the members. Students in middle school, high school, and college are encouraged to be a part of this group. We need vocalists and two keyboard players. If you have questions, please contact Becky Sopha.
